Playlist

I love awesome music. 
At work, we were listening to a CD. (I know, know, who listens to CD's anymore?) I have no idea what band it was, but it was HORRIBLE! I looked at the other CD's that we had and we only had two other CD's that were worth listening to and they were both Led Zeppelin albums. Well the rest of the day was much better.

Today, I was thinking of all of the other music I love. I have created an awesome playlist. Now, this playlist is just for my mood right now, but I can always create another playlist with different songs.

1. When the Levee Breaks by Led Zeppelin ; This song is just so amazing. It has a great build-up.
2. Body Movin' by Beastie Boys:  This is a great song to dance to.
3. Fall in a River by Badly Drawn Boy: This song is short, but so cool.
4. Good Day Sunshine by The Beatles: This is a classic.
5. Landslide Man by Fleetwood Mac: I love this song. It is also a classic.
6. The Distance by Cake: This is a perfect song for a road trip.
7. Money by Pink Floyd: This has an awesome guitar and saxophone solo.
8. Dirty Harry by Gorillaz: Great song.
9. Shake a Fist by Hot Chip: This song is so cool and great to dance to.
10. Electric Feel by MGMT: I love this song.
11. Kissing the Lipless by the Shins: I love the Shins and this song is one of my favorites.
12. Seven Nation Army by White Stripes: This song is just amazing The beat is awesome and the song itself.

Work and Play

Lately I have been thinking about work and play. I think both are important. This actually reminds me of a poem. Work M. A. Stodart Work while you work, Play while you play; This is the way To be happy each day. All that you do, Do with your might; Things done by halves Are never done right. I love this poem. It is short, but so true. When we are working, just work. Don't do half of the job.  I have a job at a garden shop. I just water plants and do other little jobs, but I really enjoy it. I like how I can get sweaty and tired. It makes me feel like I was working hard. I also think it is interesting how  M. A. Stodart (the poet) mentioned play. Play (in my opinion) is just as important as work. There needs to be balance though. Everyone can have different ways to play or have fun. For me, I find reading, crafts, and hiking fun. I think if we have a good balance of work and play, we can be happy. What do you do for fun?

Vincent and Theo: The Van Gogh Brothers- Book Review

I really enjoyed reading Vincent and Theo: The Van Gogh Brothers written   by Deborah Heiligman. It was very interesting and easy to understand and read. This book is about the life of Vincent and Theo Van Gogh. Theo supported Vincent most of his adult life. Vincent would not have become the painter we now know without Theo. Although their stories had a tragic ending, it was so fascinating to read about them. This is a YA book, but it is good for all. I definitely would recommend this to someone who loves art. Here are some things I liked (+) and disliked (-) about this book: +Very interesting + The author's formant and use of pictures was original and so lovely + I learned a lot - I sometimes got mixed up with the different characters, but I think that this was mostly my fault - Sad ending - A bit long (409 pages) Overall rating:**** (4/5 stars)
