Of Mice and Men- Book Review

I have finished another book. I was going to put a picture of the book, but you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, so I decided against it. This time I read a classic, Of Mice and Men, written by John Steinbeck. I really enjoyed this one. This is a short story about two men, George Milton and Lennie Small. They travel and work together. Lennie is kind of simple minded, so George really has to look out for him. Lennie does some bad things (unintentionally) and George has to fix what has happened. This book is, in my opinion, sad. It is also intriguing and different. Here is what I liked (+) and disliked (-) about this book: + This is a short read. It has only 103 pages. + It is fairly easy to understand. + It is a good story. - There is some bad language, but this (for me) really defined who the characters where. - There are a few terms that we don't use as much today that I had to look up. Overall rating 5/5. This is a classic that everyone should read.

Fears

Pretty much everyone is afraid of something. I have had a fear of heights for all of my life. I also have a very odd fear of fish. Now, I used to always have pet fish. I actually used to love my pet fish. Then when I was about 12 years old, I was cleaning out the fish tank. I scooped out the fish and was going to place it in a cup of water, but I accidentally dropped it on the floor. I was so scared! It was flopping everywhere and it's scales were sticking to the floor and it was starting to bleed. I was so freaked out I couldn't sleep that night. Because of that I will NEVER get a fish again. And when I was snorkeling at the beach, I always got freaked out when a fish would swim by. Not super scared, but enough to stay near the shore. That is my odd fear. You might think I am crazy, but I am sure you have an odd fear as well.

Snow

Image
It is snowing today. Everything looks so much prettier with snow. Snow makes the barren trees and dead grass look so lovely. Snow can be a bittersweet thing. It is so pretty, but so cold. It can (sometimes) make a perfect snowball, but also make your car slide right off the road. Snow-fro! One of my favorite things about the snow is waking up to it. You go to sleep knowing it will come and when you wake up the room is a little brighter than usual. There is usually a blanket of snow covering the ground, and sometimes it is still coming down. I love how snow can make a room a little brighter.

Turtles All the Way Down- Book Review

I just finished the book "Turtles All the Way Down" by John Green. It is good.  Aza Holmes is a 16 year old girl who suffers from a mental problem. She is controlled by her thoughts. At the same time she and her best friend, Daisy want to find the missing billionaire, Russell Pickett. Here are a few things I like (+) and don't like (-) about this book. + It is written very well. I love the way John Green writes. It is almost philosophical. + It has emotion. It feels real. You can almost feel what Aza is going through. + It is a good story. Aza and Daisy are trying to help Davis Pickett (the billionaire's son) find his dad. - There is some bad language. Overall a good story. I defiantly recommend reading it.
