Snow

It is snowing today. Everything looks so much prettier with snow. Snow makes the barren trees and dead grass look so lovely.

Snow can be a bittersweet thing. It is so pretty, but so cold. It can (sometimes) make a perfect snowball, but also make your car slide right off the road.

Snow-fro!


One of my favorite things about the snow is waking up to it. You go to sleep knowing it will come and when you wake up the room is a little brighter than usual. There is usually a blanket of snow covering the ground, and sometimes it is still coming down. I love how snow can make a room a little brighter.

Work and Play

Lately I have been thinking about work and play. I think both are important. This actually reminds me of a poem. Work M. A. Stodart Work while you work, Play while you play; This is the way To be happy each day. All that you do, Do with your might; Things done by halves Are never done right. I love this poem. It is short, but so true. When we are working, just work. Don't do half of the job.  I have a job at a garden shop. I just water plants and do other little jobs, but I really enjoy it. I like how I can get sweaty and tired. It makes me feel like I was working hard. I also think it is interesting how  M. A. Stodart (the poet) mentioned play. Play (in my opinion) is just as important as work. There needs to be balance though. Everyone can have different ways to play or have fun. For me, I find reading, crafts, and hiking fun. I think if we have a good balance of work and play, we can be happy. What do you do for fun?

Vincent and Theo: The Van Gogh Brothers- Book Review

I really enjoyed reading Vincent and Theo: The Van Gogh Brothers written   by Deborah Heiligman. It was very interesting and easy to understand and read. This book is about the life of Vincent and Theo Van Gogh. Theo supported Vincent most of his adult life. Vincent would not have become the painter we now know without Theo. Although their stories had a tragic ending, it was so fascinating to read about them. This is a YA book, but it is good for all. I definitely would recommend this to someone who loves art. Here are some things I liked (+) and disliked (-) about this book: +Very interesting + The author's formant and use of pictures was original and so lovely + I learned a lot - I sometimes got mixed up with the different characters, but I think that this was mostly my fault - Sad ending - A bit long (409 pages) Overall rating:**** (4/5 stars)
